The Kelway Hotel, Port Elizabeth

The hotel had a view over the bowling club and the ocean was blocked by the rest of the building, which was directly across the corridor. The rooms were very small and box-like, not matching the advertisement at all, and the staff/management was unfriendly.

My stay at the hotel was comfortable and pleasant, with spacious rooms and lovely sea views. However, I wish there were two comfortable chairs in the room. The service was excellent, as they were accommodating and even moved us to another room for a night. The location was great, close to many food retailers and the Boardwalk Casino. The dining experience was not up to a 4-star standard, with very oily food and inconsistent mask-wearing among staff.

The hotel room is in dire need of a revamp as it looks nothing like the pictures. While lacking proper seating with only a bigger room, the price difference is not justified. The services were outstanding, going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Although the dining options were varied and delicious, slow service was a letdown. The location was superb, close to the beach and entertainment hubs, making it convenient for exploration.
